When is Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp (MHKC) available to rent?

Groups can rent individual cabins or the entire Camp for day use or overnight stays from September through mid-June. Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp is closed for Thanksgiving weekend and from December 24 to January 2.

What types of groups are hosted at camp?

Our facilities are available for retreats, conferences, and small gatherings when our Summer Camp is not in session. Many schools, churches, nonprofits, and businesses seek out our camp for a one of a kind forested experience.

Can Kiwanis Camp provide meals or can we cook for ourselves?

BOTH!

MHKC is unique because we do not require groups to purchase meal plans when they book a retreat. The lodge kitchens are stocked with equipment and cooking utensils, allowing groups to cook their own meals.

However, if you purchase meals from our talented cooks, you will receive free access to our dining hall during your stay. Our dining hall is a great space for gathering and event programming. For sample menus, email our Camp Host to learn more.

How are the sleeping facilities arranged?

The cabins at MHKC are arranged in dormitory style rooms, with 4-8 people per room, sleeping in bunk beds. Every lodge has it’s own unique design and ambiance. Check out the lodge descriptions above to see a layout.

What do groups need to bring?

Like most camp lodging experiences, individuals will need to bring their own linens. This includes bedding- pillow, sheets, blankets, and/or a sleeping bag, as well as towels, washcloths, etc. Reference the packing list on our website.

Are pets allowed?

Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp prohibits guests from bringing animals on premises, with the exception of animals providing ADA accommodations for a person with disabilities (service animals and service animal trainees). Emotional support animals are excluded.

What options does our group have for recreation at Camp or in the area?

While at MHKC, most groups enjoy time in the historic lodges cooking, building fires, playing games, and hosting meetings. Outside, groups can find an outdoor stage area surrounded by benches, as well as a hiking trail from camp to a nearby waterfall. In the winter, groups enjoy snowshoeing through MHKC’s 22 acres.

Does MHKC have a seasonal Adventure Course?

MHKC has an extensive Adventure Course, ideal for groups seeking team building. There is a zipline, giant swing, a rock wall, and stream crossing. We partner with Synergo to provide groups with a custom package, working with their group goals and budget. If you’re interested in utilizing the Adventure Course while your group stays with us please let us know!

Does MHKC have a seasonal pool?

Yes. MHKC has a therapeutically heated 6ft deep outdoor pool.

When can I rent the Adventure Course and/or the Pool?

The Adventure Course and Pool are available to rent seasonally depending on weather conditions. They are available from:
• The beginning of May through the beginning of June
• Then again for the month of September.

How do I reserve and when are payments due?

Reservations are accepted up to 12 months in advance (with exceptions). To reserve a date, we require a signed contract and a 50% deposit. The deposit is refundable up to 90 days before your event. The remaining lodging balance is due 7 days before your stay.
