The Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp Foundation was formed in 1989 to maintain an endowment fund for the sole purpose of providing support to the Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp and its programs. The MHKC Foundation works to secure private philanthropic support ensuring that our camp will be here to create life changing opportunities for future generations of campers.
The endowment fund provides the Camp with financial support from investment earnings. By preserving principal, this fund can provide support into perpetuity. Community support and gifts allow the fund to grow, thus increasing its ability to sustain the Camp. The long-term objective is to provide a significant portion of the Camp’s operating budget from the endowment while also making the legacy of a donor’s gift permanent.
The Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors who work closely with the Camp staff and the Camp Board of Directors to invest and manage gifts responsibly to honor donors’ wishes, and to provide strategic fund raising direction to the organization.
