Empowering children and adults with disabilities

Grant Information

The Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp seeks the support of community and corporate foundations whose missions are aligned with our purpose to empower children and adults with disabilities. Through careful preparation and cultivation of grant funders throughout our community, our goal is to continually garner support for our organization.

2016 Grants

Operational Support: Support from these organizations will be applied to our operating funds to be used in support of our programs.

Camperships: With these grants, we will serve the families utilizing our camp and provide financial aid to offset camp fees to as many families impacted by these tight economic times as possible.

Camp Director position: With the support of these foundations, MHKC was able to hire a Camp Director to help with the planning of our Summer Camp, Winter Retreat, and Family Camp programs throughout the year.

Internal Capacity Building Grants: From 2013-2016, MHKC has been focused on increasing our funding sustainability and our capacity to earn ongoing revenue to support our camp programs.

Redwoods Group Foundation: This grant will be utilized to purchase a pool cover to help ensure the safety of our campers and renters throughout the year.

Nike Foundation- Nike Employee Grant Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation: With the support of the Nike Foundation, MHKC will launch an adaptive bicycling program within the recreational program of Summer Camp in 2017.

L.P. Brown Foundation: This grant will be utilized to replace aging electrical needs and light fixtures in Cy Lodge.

Albina Rotary Foundation: Funds from this grant were used to purchase an automatic door opener for Fanning Lodge.

Autzen Foundation: Funds from this grant will allow the Camp to replace the septic tank underneath Cy Lodge , one of our largest and most frequently used lodging facilities.
