Empowering children and adults with disabilities

Terri Hammond

Communications Director

As the Communications Director, I am responsible for designing the digital, written, and graphic content and making certain it communicates MHKC’s mission of empowering children and adults with disabilities.

In my past life, I worked in advertising as both a copywriter and a graphic designer. I landed in Portland after years in Dallas, Austin, and New York. I love living in Portland and I love working in nonprofit.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Advertising at the University of Texas.

Favorite camp activity: Swimming in the pool.

Favorite camp song: This version of “Baby Shark”

Favorite camp food: Chicken curry

My favorite thing about camp: The people- campers, camper families, the counselors, the summer staff, the donors, the volunteers, the Kiwanians. We get to be surrounded by the most incredible humans every day.

Team Woodsy or Team Smokey? Is that a serious question? Team Smokey!
