Empowering children and adults with disabilities

Matt Winnett

Assistant Programs Director

As Assistant Camp Director, I help run all of the daily workings of camp including programs, health and safety, dining services, custodial services, administrative work, and supervision of campers and staff. I also partner with Kayla to help grow and improve our program throughout the year.

After 8 years of staffing summer camps with the Boy Scouts as an Aquatics supervisor, my time at MHKC started when I trained the lifeguards in 2017. I returned to MHKC later that summer and volunteered with the group at Trillium Lake. When I came to MHKC, I fell in love with the camp’s mission and the programs that the camp provides. Now I get to help in the organization and growth of those programs, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Favorite camp activity: Canoeing at Trillium!

Favorite camp song: 60’s Party

Favorite camp food: Pizza!

My favorite thing about camp: Getting people outdoors and doing fun and exciting activities that aren’t readily available outside of camp. Like canoeing on Trillium lake!

Team Woodsy or Team Smokey? “Give a hoot, don’t pollute!” might be the coolest motto ever, so Team Woodsy!
