Empowering children and adults with disabilities

Kristin Sunzeri, RN

Health Care Director

I am a Registered Nurse and I work at the Portland camp office year-round helping to plan for the upcoming summer’s medical needs. My job is to assure the safety and well-being of all campers and staff at Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp.

I have worked with children, adolescents, and young adults in EMS, hospitals, schools, camps, and medical office settings as an RN for the past 3 years. I have worked as a school nurse for the past year. This upcoming year (2019) will be my second summer at MHKC. I am from originally from California where my father was a police officer and my mother worked as a respiratory therapist.  I now live in the Portland area with my two young girls.  We enjoy getting out and hiking and enjoying everything that the PNW has to offer.

Favorite camp activity: The Dance!!!!  I love the music, dressing up, getting to be wild and crazy with the campers and just enjoying life in the moment.

Favorite camp song: The Mountain Song… I come from the water

Favorite camp food: Cookout night- hot dogs, burgers, friends and family- the perfect combo

My favorite thing about camp: Getting to be a part of campers pushing past their own barriers and barriers that society has set.  Everyone at camp is able to simply come and BE.  There are no disabilities at camp which is an amazing thing to witness.

Team Woodsy or Team Smokey? Team Woodsy all the way- Give a hoot, DON’T POLLUTE!
