Ken Cowdery

Interim Executive Director

Ken Cowdery is a highly accomplished change management consultant and strategic visionary with leadership experience in organizational growth, building high performance executive teams and boards, grant making, systems change, fund development, operational design, capacity building, and cross sector collaboration. He has led a diverse array of organizations through large scale endowment campaigns, strategic planning initiatives, high net worth donor cultivation, and nonprofit board and program development. As a foundation leader Ken is a well known problem solver, and has mobilized coalitions across sectors to drive policy changes and enhance system impacts.

He has served on the national board of HomeAid America and its Executive, Strategic Planning, and Standards of Excellence Committees, and as a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, the Northwest Planned Giving Roundtable, the Oregon Society of Association Management, and the City Club of Portland's Advocacy Board.

Ken has served as a guest lecturer on social purpose enterprise at the University of Portland Pamplin School of Business, Portland State University School of Business Administration, and as a panelist judge for the Willamette University Atkinson Graduate School of Business PACE Program.

Ken is Past President of the Oregon Association of Children’s Programs, and former member of the City of Portland Citizens Advisory Council. He is also a former columnist for American City Business Journals and is a recipient of the Rotary Club of Portland 2008 Community All Stars Award, and four National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Excellence Awards (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018).
